Join us on this elongated island nestled next to Attica, and resting in the Aegean Sea. It is the second largest island in Greece, but much of it remains undiscovered by most travellers that don’t yet know the many majestic secrets hidden amongst its coves and olive grove.
Zarka Villas is a unique complex built into a nest of olive groves, below the vintage cobblestone village of Zarakes. Traveling to Zarka Villas is an easy 2.5-3 hours from Athens International Airport.
The complex completely suits its environment, boasting a beautiful rotunda that we will use for our daily yoga practice. Large floor-to-ceiling windows look out onto the organic hillside, while the glass doors open onto a poolside deck where we will enjoy our traditional Greek communal breakfast each morning. All meals offered by HHYR at Zarka during the retreat will be vegetarian.
There are three unique villas built upon old stone house foundations, retaining much of the charm of the surrounding village, but with modern amenities. You can choose from among single, double or family occupancy. Each villa has a large fully stocked communal kitchen + a BBQ on the outside deck for your daily use as you prepare your own meals. Alternatively, there are three tavernas in the village that are lovely choices for your evening meal, as Greeks eat dinner late in the summertime. They also deliver.

Aside from the guided hikes we will offer, you are welcome to enjoy the grounds, which includes a path to a tiny Byzantine church. You are also welcome to partake of the communal garden, and take any of the owners’ dogs for a walk. Finally, there is a Jacuzzi for your pleasure – perfect for stargazing.
